Hardcovers can be made from a wide variety of materials, including cloth, leather, vinyl and of course, paper of many descriptions. We have several standard styles to choose from, ranging from economy to custom.
We can bind sizes from 4"x5" up to 12"x18" and any thickness up to 3" with some limitations.
For a sucessful binding, the paper grain of both the cover and pages need to run parallel to the spine.
Loose pages (no folds) need to be supplied stacked in order and separated in books. Pages should be oversize by 1/8" top, bottom and leaf side to allow for three-side trim (except for economy). The spine side will not be trimmed (no grind-off).
Supplied Covers: need to be flat and laid out as per our cover templates. Be sure to allow for spine thickness and margins. Grain must run parallel to the spine!
This style uses one of our stock covers available in a number of materials and finishings, but otherwise plain with no printing or stamping of any kind. Looses pages are attached directly to the inside of the cover and attached with endsheets. Pages are not trimmed in the process. The result is a nice clean, durable book that makes a nice presentation.
Printed paper covers are wrapped around chipboard to make these covers anything you want. Loose pages are bound using hot adhesive to a flexible cloth backing to make the book block. After gluing, the pages are flush-trimmed on three sides, and then attached to the hardcover using specially-designed endsheets. This type of binding is more flexible and makes the book open more easily, and more likely to stay open and lie flatter without damage to the binding.
In addition to above, we UV coat or laminate your covers (1.3 mil gloss) before wrapping the case, resulting in a very durable book that will have a lasting appeal for many years. This is our most popular style of binding.
Almost anything is possible. We can offer all kinds of ideas and samples, or use your idea to help make your book absolutely unique. We can make additional slipcases for single books or for sets. Special papers and stocks are available for covers and endsheets. We can supply printing in any quantity for covers or text pages: lithographs, digital color or black and white, inkjets, screenprints and specialty imaging processes.

We can bind 2 economy hardcover books for $25.00
Runs of up to 25 economy hardcover books are priced at $12.00 each.
25-50 books - $10.50 ea.
50-100 books - $9.00 ea.
Above economy pricing based on letter-sized or smaller books with spine thickness of 1/2 " or less. Larger sizes and quantities are available.
Standard books are approximately $15 ea, 25-50 for $13 ea, and larger quantities at around $12 apiece.
Standard Plus books are $1 ea additional for UV coating and $2.50 ea for plastic laminate coating.
Custom books average from $25 to $50 apiece - more for those really special editions (see samples).
